Insurance Coverage

Insurance and Payment Information

Your insurance provider should cover the services of Housecalls Express as it would other primary care services. Housecalls Express accepts Medicare assignment and supplements. We also accept certain types of commercial insurance.

We will file your claim for you with any accepted carrier; otherwise, we will give you a receipt upon completion of the visit that you may file with your health insurer for reimbursement.

Patients with Medicare

We accept Medicare and take assignment, which means we directly bill Medicare, and all supplemental insurance plans. We only bill the patient when there is an unpaid balance which is not covered by Medicare or the supplemental insurer. As with all physicians who take assignment, Medicare reimburses 80% of our professional fees (which are set by Medicare) after patients have met their annual deductible. Some supplemental insurance plans pay the 20% of a physician’s fee not covered by Medicare (the co-pay), and some even pay the annual deductible. However, many supplemental plans cover only a portion of the co-pay and most do not cover the deductible.

For patients without supplemental insurance, the 20% co-pay and annual deductible amount are due and payable at the time of service.

Patients with Insurance other than Medicare

For patients with insurance other than Medicare, our practice operates on a fee-for-service basis. That means we ask patients to pay at time of service, unless you are covered by one of the companies for which we are a participating provider.

Fee for Service

If Housecalls Express is not a participating provider of your health insurance, you can make payment by cash or credit card at the time of the visit. Generally, the visit fee will be $325. Fees may be higher and vary depending upon the treatment given and the length of the visit. Also, there is an additional convenience fee for evening, weekends, and holiday visits.
